Building and Maintenance site
The Building and Maintenance team has had a very busy 2011
In the Church We are redecorated the Priests vestry, the vestry and the servers vestry.
Priests Vestry
We have finished re-plastering the walls, the painting and the new floor. We still have a bit of sorting out and tiding to do in regards to the state and condition of the cabinets and drawer facitilies, but we hope to complete that work soon.
Vestry
We have completed the project to re-decorate the Vestry and took the opportunity to add a small kitchen area for serveing tea and coffee from. We also took the chance to have a really good clear-out and now have a much less cluttered area. There is still still some small areas of work that need addressing, which we will now turn to as the winter weather prevents us from dealing with the external areas of the building and grounds.
Work is underway to floor the large loft space above the vestry, and we have opened a small appeal fund to allow us to purchase flooring packs from a leading DIY chain at a cost of £5 a pack.
Servers Vestry
At the end of January we completed work in the Servers and laid a new carpet removing the old damaged floor tiles.
Other Projects currently underway
Church Sound System
We are currently making plans to change the location and upgrade the sound system in Church. This will give us greater flexibility and better, more even, sound quality thoughout the church and lady chapel.

Church Hall During the Summer months of 2011, we hope to move our focus towards the Church Hall. Redecorating and upgrading the toilet facilities, main lobby area, kitchen and the main hall itself. We also hope to address a number of issues relating to the access of the building and redecorate the exterior paintwork.
We have now nearly completed the work of the Church Hall, and at the end of October the floor will be sanded and re-sealed, as well as a new floor being laid in the lobby area. This will all be complete by October 31st, and our sincere thanks go to those how wealded paint-brushes, cleaning mops.
OFFERS OF HELP As you can see, we have a number of large scale projects we are currently dealing with, and our thanks go to the few people who turn up on the last Saturday every month to see what needs doing and addressing some of the work that we have undertaken. We ask no more of our volunteers for a couple of hours of the Saturdays working parties - but occassionally the work does take longer. If you are able and willing to help out then please do either come along - or see a member of the Building and Maintenance Sub-committee who will be only too willing to offer alternative dates or ideas.
