Safeguarding Training, 3rd May

Keeping vulnerable people safe is the most important thing that we do as Christians and I would like you to put Sunday 3rd May in your diaries now. From 2-5pm we will be holding a basic safeguarding awareness afternoon, run by our two safeguarding officers, Lesley Sutcliffe and Fran Griffin. It is crucial, if we are to do our part in changing a national culture of apathy about this subject that we spend the time together, learning just how Christlike vulnerable people are. The afternoon will include Evensong and tea and cake, so it should he a positive experience for everybody. I would also like to draw your attention to the lecture on 4th May on why it is important to name Jesus as a victim of sexual abuse This is taking place at Zero Degrees in Reading at 7.30pm. As Christians we are closest to Jesus when we identify with those who have also been hurt.

Best Wishes
