Livability is a national Christian disability and community engagement charity.
We deliver community projects, disability care services and training resources that promote inclusion and wellbeing. We also share our expertise internationally. We are an enabling network of people, tackling barriers in society to make community livable.
Livability is a proven and trusted national provider of commissioned care and community projects in the UK. Created by a merger of The Shaftesbury Society and John Grooms, we have a 160 year track record in ground-breaking community work.
What we offer
We help people overcome the barriers they face and build on what’s good in their community to make it more livable. We make this happen through:
26 residential care homes
a school and a further education college for disabled students
a Lifestyle Choices programme promoting independent living
Livability Enterprise Agency – an employment initiative
community social inclusion work through a number of Link Church and community hub projects in under-resourced communities in the UK
sharing expertise in disability care and community work internationally
